Bio

Shamma Almarzooqi is a textile crafter who enjoys playing around with new art practices to feed her endless creative curiosity. Her creative practice mainly focuses on textile art where she enjoys including threads and yarns wherever possible. Hence the name of her studio, Soof; Which is Yarn in Arabic. 

Whenever applicable, she tries to create wearable art pieces to make people who buy them feel special and unique. Every piece is special in it’s own way whether it’s a hand-painted Jalabeya, a hand-woven shawl, or a handmade wall art. 

Sometimes, she goes out of her way by repurposing recycled fabric or scrape yarn to create special pieces with respect to nature and the environment. 

To Shamma, Soof studio is not only her hobby and small business, but also her favorite mean for mental bliss.
