Bio

Hadil Ankouny is a product designer, maker and inventor from Lebanon. She graduated from ALBA Beirut with a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture in 2010, a master’s degree in Landscape architecture in 2013, and a master degree in advanced design and digital architecture from ELISAVA Barcelona in 2014.

Hadil has been working in the design field in Lebanon since 2011. Her portfolio includes interior design consultancy, furniture design, product design, and manufacturing projects.

In 2015 she founded Fab Lab Beirut, where she supported entrepreneurs and makers in the development of their projects. She started her design line with the first furniture collection BAFT, where she tackled the idea of art and technology in a collection that is inspired by earth patterns. She was a member of Beirut makers and Beirut design week in 2017 where she showcased her lighting design collection TAY.

Hadil has a passion for design education. She taught design courses at Phoenicia University and ALBA Beirut, her classes were focused on design foundation, digital design, and digital fabrication. She founded Higher Hybrids, a platform for design education where she teaches Digital Design and Fabrication for makers from different backgrounds, ages and interests.

She is currently working on the implementation of new sustainable Fab Labs and maker spaces.

Hadil is passionate about Inventing and making. She believes that sustainable industries, and design thinking education are key to smart cities and innovative societies.
